Friday morning I was driving back to Atlanta. It was a cool dreary morning and the rain was just barely sprinkling. It was the kind of rain that is too little for the wipers and too much without! I was traveling along Hwy 300 that cuts across south Georgia and through many small towns. There are many photo opportunities but it was cotton season and the cotton was in full bloom. I thought what a great opportunity to try out my new macro lens. In the slight drizzle I jumped out, unfortunately into a pile of mud and my new brown suede shoes covered. Still to be determined if they will make it! Anyways, I started taking photos… it was cool and slightly raining but it felt good and refreshing. I finished the photos and looked back at the car realizing that I had pulled off into some good mud! The front tires looked kinda buried from where I stood! I had a feeling I was gonna get stuck but tried to back out anyway. With no luck I dug myself deeper. By myself it was useless to try and get myself out. In the middle of nowhere, AAA would be hours getting to me. Ahhh….the police they sure would help. So needless to say, thank you to the Camilla Fire Department for pulling me out of the mud! They had to put a winch to the back end of my car, close off a lane and pull me out! What a scene but I do love the pictures of the beautiful cotton plants! Enjoy!
